CID questions Rev Owusu Bempah over Akufo-Addo’s assassination prediction

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Ministry International was on Wednesday morning questioned by the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in connection with a prophesy he made about a plot to assassinate the presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The pastor claimed God had revealed to him that some people were planning to kill Nana Addo and therefore asked the presidential aspirant to ‘tighten’ his security.

“God has revealed to me that some politicians in a certain political party in Ghana are conspiring with some members of the NPP to shoot Nana dead at a campaign tour. The NPP should not take this as a joke but rather provide tight security around the man,” Rev Bempah said during an interaction with journalists last week.

Following that the police extended an invitation to him and so he reported to the CID on Wednesday morning for questioning.

Scores of church members from the Glorious Word Ministry International and his colleague pastors from other churches gathered at the CID headquarters to support him.
